Growing up in Arizona, to him, was always a bit of a toss up between the best and worst thing about his life. He thinks it's because of the abuse he and his family suffered through because of his Dad. Adam doesn't really understand why his Father was that way with them, why he took so much pleasure in causing pain and torment but he thinks he's getting over it. He can't bring himself to hate his Dad for it either. He knows it's a little twisted but he's forgiven his Father and still loves and talks to him this day - Phone calls only, though, because Adam's not strong enough to be around his Father for long without the chance of reverting to a personality type he's been desperately trying to bury. He was a victim and he doesn't want to be that victim forever. Adam got his chance to get out from under his life when he went away to college. He stayed close for the first year then transferred himself out to pursue a higher degree in a field that caught his eye - Forensics. He wasn't to particular in which field he studied because by the end he was well versed in pretty much everything. Of course there are mitigating factors related to this but unfortunately there was alcohol involved somewhere along the line and some things were, er, lost. (And if anyone knows where his blue Scooby Doo boxers ran off to, he'd like those back.) Ever since starting at the Lab in New York, Adam's life has taken a definite turn for the better. He's really started to come into his own and has grown more confident; He's definitely allowed himself to be the adorable, playful man he naturally is. He can't help that sometimes he over talks or that he generally acts a little dorky, it's his nature. But he tries to be professional and do his job as best he can, which is pretty damn well if he says so himself. His relationship with the people in the lab, at one time, had been very tentative. He was shy and unsure in the beginning and completely unprepared for the constant interaction that seemed so natural for the Criminologists working with and around him. Slowly, but surely, his shell was cracked and Adam started to grow comfortable with everyone - Danny Messer especially. There's just something about that guy that drew Adam in. He was lucky that they hit it off half as well as they did because Adam isn't sure what his life at the lab would have been like if Danny wasn't his friend. There are some, though, that still makes Adam a little wary and feel like that awkward, unwanted boy of yesteryear: Mac Taylor and Stella Bonasera. Both are strong, confident people with no-nonsense attitudes, and a definite edge that reminds Adam sharply of his father. But whereas his Dad was intentionally cruel and hateful, they are level headed and treated everyone around them with respect. Adam liked that and though he's not as comfortable as he'd like to be when alone with either of them, he's not afraid anymore. Then again that might have something to do with the fact that he happens to like them. . . Layout - Graphics - Sev The character Adam Ross is sole intellectual property of Anthony E.
